With North Korea, Most Prefer Peaceful Coexistence over Unification: Survey

In a recent survey by the Korea Institute for National Unification 통일연구원 released on July 16, 56.5% said they preferred “peaceful coexistence” with North Korea, while 25.4% said they preferred reunification.

The younger demographic preferred peaceful coexistence over reunification, indicating the likely future direction of the inter-Korean relations. Also importantly, 61% said they spent no time thinking about North Korea.
