In a move hailed as daring and ground-breaking, online portal giant Naver 네이버 selected 40 year old attorney Choi Su-yeon 최수연 as its new chief executive officer. Choi would be the head of the 120 executives of Naver, only six of whom are younger than she is.
Choi majored in engineering at the Seoul National University 국립서울대학교, attended Yonsei Law School 연세대 법학전문대학원, and holds an LLM degree from Harvard Law School.
Choi would be taking over Naver in its time of trouble, as the company’s grueling work culture recently led to a series of high-profile employee suicides.
